Transportation Department is hiring a Senior Management Analyst under the Transportation and Mobility Planning Division.

THE POSITION

The individual in this position will support the Transportation and Mobility Planning Manager and will be responsible for assigned transportation planning and transit planning projects/initiatives under the Transportation and Mobility Planning Division. The initiatives under the division include, but are not limited to, mobility service planning and implementation; comprehensive service analysis; performance measures; advanced quantitative and qualitative analyses; transportation infrastructure planning and implementation; Transportation Demand Management Program; micromobility program; transportation research; procurement management; environmental impact review documents; review of land use projects and developments and traffic studies; planning studies; contract and project management; coordination/collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; Geographic information System (GIS) mapping and analysis; service changes; mobility stop standard; competitive grant applications; National Transit Database Reporting; and review and monitoring of local, regional, and national transportation legislations, policies, projects, and issues. This position will also be responsible for supervising the associate analyst under the Transportation and Mobility Planning Division and will provide guidance to the management analysts, as necessary.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will meet the minimum requirements as specified in the job bulletin here, PLUS the following:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in transportation planning, transit service planning, planning studies, comprehensive service analysis, environmental impact analysis, basic principles of traffic engineering, capital/infrastructure project implementation, project management, data collection, research and analysis, and advanced skills in statistical analysis and Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and analysis is highly desirable.
  • Master’s degree in urban planning, transportation planning, public policy, or related areas is desirable
  • Proficient with Excel spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software.
In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will be passionate about transportation planning and mobility; have the ability to work independently and assume responsibility for his/her project areas; work well in a team environment; possess excellent customer service, research, project management, and analytical skills; is comfortable accommodating shifting priorities as he/she coordinates multiple projects; can maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor at all times; is able to achieve high quality professional works by the deadlines; can thrive in a fast-paced environment with a wide variety of responsibilities; have the ability to think comprehensively, strategically, and creatively; ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals; and have strong written and oral communication skills and excellent attention to details; and is skilled in guiding and growing junior staff.
