Assistant Chief Jason Sims is Named the Interim Police Chief

Interim Chief Jason Sims | Culver City Police Department

Chief Sims has been a member of the Culver City Police Department since 2000. During his time as a police officer, he worked as a patrol officer and as an investigator with our crime impact team, special victims unit, and our robbery homicide section. In 2007, Jason was promoted to the rank of Sergeant where he worked Patrol, Detectives, and Parking. Jason was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2013 where he served as a Patrol Watch Commander, and as the Lieutenant in charge of the Professional Standards Unit, and Traffic Section. In 2017, Jason was promoted to the rank of Captain where he oversaw the Operations, Investigation, and Administration Bureaus before his promotion to the rank of Assistant Chief of Police in 2020.
