The Santa Monica PD Homeless Liaison Program (HLP) Team continues to address frequent encampments near the I-10 westbound offramp at Lincoln Boulevard. Several individuals were contacted, provided outreach, and ultimately cited for public camping. HLP also requested the resources of the City's Public Works team to remove large amounts of trash.
Our staff continue to work with leaders at the City Manager's Office and our CalTrans partners to identify long-term solutions.
Edit: It is important to note that SMPD does not manage homeless housing services/facilities. During our outreach we can direct homeless individuals to various service providers based on their specific needs and the criteria they meet like The People Concern, St. Joseph’s Center, and the Salvation Army for example.
