Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after tiny homes located on the West Los Angeles VA Campus caught fire Thursday evening.
“My office and I are tracking developments on the fire that impacted some temporary housing on the West LA VA campus. I am very grateful that no one was injured and appreciate the quick effort by LAFD to extinguish the blaze. The VA has briefed my office on the incident and we will continue to offer support to the VA as they determine the next course of action for the tiny homes project. Eliminating veteran homelessness is a top priority of mine. This is a disappointing setback but I’m committed to helping the VA get the resources it needs to find housing and offer support for homeless veterans.”
