Listen up! To celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Fire Prevention Week, the Culver City Fire Department is having a contest to honor this year’s theme – Fire won’t wait, plan your escape. This contest is for children from preschool through 5th grade. The task is simple—create the best home escape plan you possibly can. Make it as detailed, colorful, or unique as you want! At the very least, the plan needs to show each room of your home, the ways you can escape each room, where the smoke detectors are, and the family meeting point. View an example plan. The best home escape plans will win a station tour at a Culver City Fire Station!

Drop off your plan in-person
Hand-deliver your plan to the Community Risk Reduction offices located on the 2nd floor of City Hall 9770 Culver Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232.
City Hall is open from 7:30 AM-5:30 PM, Monday – Friday with closed Fridays every other week. Plan to take Culver CityBus or parking access is available from Duquesne Ave.

This contest is for children in preschool through 5th grade. Participants must either live within Culver City or go to school in Culver City. Parents/Guardians, along with the escape plan, please include your child’s first name, their grade and age, your street name or school your child attends, and a phone number and/or email address at which we may reach you to let you know if your child is a winner! Winners will be contacted during Fire Prevention Week, October 9-15, 2022.
Plans are due by 5 PM on Thursday, October 6, 2022.
