Board

Kayne Ersa Center issued the following announcement on Apr. 20.

Exceptional Children’s Foundation (ECF) former Board Member and passionate supporter Kristin Garemani has been selected to receive the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2022 Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Volunteer of the Year Award, which was presented at the virtual award ceremony today.

The award recognizes an outstanding individual who is volunteering their time and talent to the non-profit sector; making a significant contribution to the Los Angeles community through commitment, service, creativity, cooperation and leadership in their volunteer role.

Kristin Garemani, owner of Garemani Wines, has been a passionate volunteer and supporter of ECF for over two decades. After serving for several years as a member of ECF’s Board of Directors, she has continued to engage as an ardent and innovative catalyst, volunteer, and benefactor for ECF’s growth and impact. Kristin has created and sponsored a successful series of Wine Tasting and Silent Auction benefits for ECF, now held biannually, and recently sponsored the Second Annual Garemani Golf Tournament benefitting ECF, held at Big Horn Country Club in La Quinta.

According to ECF President and CEO Scott Bowling, “In establishing and hosting this annual event, Kristin not only raised critical funds for ECF’s life-changing programs, but also fostered critical community connections that will be instrumental in advancing ECF strategic initiatives and enhancing awareness in Los Angeles and the Desert Communities. Her long-reaching impact, and her passion, energy and dedication could not be more deserving of this prestigious recognition.”

During ECF’s 76th year of service provision, Kristin has continued her tireless efforts to serve the organization’s mission with commitments to promote and directly support a special event in Los Angeles County this March, and to help host ECF’s 76th Anniversary Legends of Impact Gala in June, an event key to ECF reaching this year’s fundraising goal of $1.8 million.

Kristin is the owner of Garemani Wines, a boutique winery that has won over 50 awards, including awards in the New York International Wine Competition, the Central Coast Wine Competition, a Double Gold Medal in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, and many more. Despite the demands of her successful business, she continues to extend her time, talents and relentless energy helping to advance the mission and impact of Exceptional Children’s Foundation.

Kristin’s commitment to helping others has also been instilled in her son, Cameron, who now serves on the Associates Board of Directors for the organization. Further demonstrating Kristin’s service passion and commitment to ECF, she has inspired her son Cameron to become involved through advocacy, volunteer service and fundraising. This additional dimensional support extends the Garemani family impact to ECF for generations to come.
