Kayne Ersa Center issued the following announcement on Mar. 31.
Exceptional Children’s Foundation has been issued a Three-Year Accreditation from CARF for its Community Employment Services: Employment Supports; Community Employment Services: Job Development and Organizational Employment Services based on its recent survey. The accreditation will extend through March 31, 2025, and is an indication of the organization’s dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the persons serviced.
The accreditation survey and final report identified no recommendations—an accomplishment achieved by only 3 percent of CARF surveys, according to CARF International.
CARF is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services, enhancing the lives of persons served worldwide. The accreditation process applies CARF’s internationally recognized standards during a site survey conducted by peer surveyors, Accreditation, however, is an ongoing process that distinguishes a provider’s service delivery and signals to the public that the provider is committed to continuous performance improvement, responsive to feedback and accountable to the community and its other stakeholders.
CARF accreditation has been the recognized benchmark of quality health and human services for more than 50 years.
ECF’s President and CEO, Scott Bowling, noted that this year’s CARF survey “distinguished ECF from previous surveys in that the survey examined not just the organization’s exceptional adherence to over 600 accreditation standards, but also in the operation’s successful conversion of records into an organized digital framework, and the delivery of virtual services during the pandemic.”
The CARF Accreditation Decision states, “Since 1946, Exceptional Children’s Foundation (ECF) has been held in high regard as a longstanding and well-respected service provider for children and adults with developmental disabilities by the communities it serves. Addressing the specific needs of the persons served in the best way possible to help each person served reach their fullest potential appears to be the driving factor among all areas of the organization. True to its name, the organization provides exceptional services to the children, adults and their families and is led by both a highly dedicated board of directors and key staff members. Among the organization’s many strengths is its effective and forward thinking leadership style and its commitment to continuous quality improvement.”
