Sinus sufferers who undergo balloon a sinuplasty procedure almost always report relief from their symptoms.
For those who suffer from chronic sinusitis, specialists are recommending balloon sinuplasty, a newer type of surgery that is minimally invasive and offers quick patient recovery periods. The procedure requires no incisions; it involves inserting a thin balloon into the patient's nasal passage and inflating it to open up the passageways and help them drain more effectively, according to VeryWellHealth.
"I felt miserable, congested all the time, used to get sick quite a bit," a patient at Bella Vista ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery, told the West LA Times. Dr. Feinfield is my third sinus surgeon; I'm glad that I met him. I wish I had the surgery done years ago. I could actually breathe. My taste buds are better. I can taste, smell everything. Can't say enough about it. Finally, Dr. Feinfield performed the surgery, and now I feel normal."

“There are lots of cases where we can solve the problem in the office very quickly and the patients go back to having a pain-free and nice lifestyle,” Dr. Jeffrey Feinfield, otolaryngologist and facial plastic surgeon at Bella Vista ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery, told the West LA Times. “Someone can be back on their feet and back to work in a day or two, whereas the traditional sinus surgery, a week.”
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), chronic sinusitis affects 28.9 million American adults, or 11% of the adult population. Chronic sinusitis is responsible for 4.1 million doctor visits and more than 230,000 emergency room visits annually.
A report from the journal The Laryngoscope shows that sinusitis sufferers averaged 8.3 days of missed work or school every year due to sinus symptoms. After a balloon sinuplasty procedure, the number drops to roughly two days. The report also shows that patients who undergo balloon sinuplasty procedures needed only 1.4 days of recovery on average, compared to 4.2 days for patients with surgical interventions.
