Sophomore right-handed pitcher Wylan Moss has been named to the National Pitcher of the Year Award Watch List, according to a March 11 announcement from the College Baseball Foundation.
This recognition highlights Moss’s strong start to the 2026 season. He has allowed only one earned run over 15 innings, recording 24 strikeouts and just one walk. Moss currently holds a 0.60 earned run average and is limiting opposing hitters to a .128 batting average. His strikeout-to-walk ratio of 24.0 ranks eighth in the nation.
Moss’s standout performance came during UCLA’s victory over No. 7 TCU, where he pitched four scoreless innings in relief to earn the save. In that game, he struck out a career-high ten batters, including nine consecutive strikeouts—eight of them swinging—to close out the contest.
The College Baseball Foundation presents several annual awards recognizing excellence in college baseball, including the Brooks Wallace Award for outstanding shortstop, the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award, and others. The organization is dedicated to preserving and celebrating college baseball’s history and traditions through its Hall of Fame and related initiatives.
