The UCLA women’s tennis team has seen three of its student-athletes receive Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC) for the 2024-25 season. The announcement, made on Tuesday, recognized Ahmani Guichard, Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer, and Elise Wagle for their academic and athletic achievements. Among them, Lutkemeyer will advance to the national ballot for potential Academic All-America recognition.
Eligibility for this honor requires nominees to be at least sophomores both academically and athletically, maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Graduate students must meet this GPA threshold as both undergraduates and graduates. The CSC is set to release its Academic All-America list on June 3.
Guichard excelled in doubles play with partner Lutkemeyer, achieving a No. 28 ranking in the ITA standings. The duo posted a record of 28-10 overall and secured six doubles points during dual matches. Notably, they went 7-3 against nationally-ranked pairs in the fall season. Guichard’s notable singles performance came during an NCAA Championship second-round match where she overcame two match points to defeat host Vanderbilt’s player.
Lutkemeyer’s individual achievements include a singles record of 27-10 with significant success on Court 1 where she was 10-4. Currently ranked No. 31 in ITA singles rankings with a peak at No. 16, she has been recognized as an All-Big Ten First Team selection after securing three top-50 singles wins in dual matches.
Wagle also made her mark by debuting in NCAA singles competition during the fall and qualifying for doubles alongside Kimmi Hance. She recorded a singles record of 21-10 and a doubles mark of 20-8 while achieving top-50 rankings in both categories with Hance reaching as high as No. 6.
