The UCLA women’s tennis team, ranked No. 18, will begin its final month of regular-season play at the Los Angeles Tennis Center with matches against No. 60 Oregon on Friday, April 3, and No. 21 Washington on Sunday, April 5. Both matches are scheduled for a noon start time.
These contests are significant as they mark the Bruins’ return home after a recent road loss to USC and offer fans an opportunity to follow live scoring and streaming online or via social media updates.
UCLA leads its all-time series against Oregon with a record of 29-1, most recently winning their last encounter in March 2025 by a score of 4-0. Against Washington, the Bruins hold a record of 33-6 but lost their latest matchup in March by a score of 4-1.
In their previous match on March 27 at David X. Marks Tennis Stadium, UCLA fell to USC despite securing the doubles point early in the contest. Mayu Crossley was notable for winning both her singles and doubles matches that day.
Senior Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer has reached career milestones this season with over 150 combined singles and doubles wins. She was also named as one of two finalists for the Universal Tennis Foundation Hurd Awards on March 8 during live coverage by Tennis Channel. This recognition comes with a $40,000 grant supporting her transition from college to international competition; champions receive $100,000 grants distributed after the NCAA season concludes in May.
Other standout performances include multiple Big Ten weekly awards earned by Crossley and Lutkemeyer throughout the current academic year. The team’s roster features returning players such as Kate Fakih and Olivia Center—who together posted a team-best doubles record last season—and new freshmen including Kayla Chung (a former Easter Bowl champion), Crossley (who achieved an ITF junior ranking of No.5), and Rona Rugara (winner of nine ITF junior titles).
Head coach Stella Sampras Webster is marking her thirtieth season leading UCLA women’s tennis, having guided teams to national championships in both NCAA team and individual competitions since taking over in the mid-1990s.
