The UCLA women’s tennis team, ranked No. 19 nationally, will conclude its regular season with home matches against No. 72 Indiana on Friday, April 17, and Purdue on Saturday, April 18 at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. The Bruins (13-6 overall, 7-4 Big Ten) are set to face Indiana for the first time since 1998 and will meet Purdue for the first time ever.
These matches mark an important close to the regular season as UCLA looks to build momentum ahead of postseason play. Fans can follow both contests through live scoring and streaming provided by UCLA Athletics.
Prior to Saturday’s match against Purdue, senior Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer will be honored for her achievements with the program. Lutkemeyer has accumulated records of 68-31 in singles and 70-21 in doubles during her career at UCLA. Her accolades include being a Hurd Award finalist for 2026, an NCAA singles qualifier in fall of 2024, ITA Southwest Regional Player to Watch in 2025, All-Big Ten First Team honoree in 2025, four-time Big Ten Player of the Week recipient (most recently March 4), two-time CSC Academic All-America honoree (Third Team – 2025 and 2024), nine-time Athletic Director’s Honor Roll member (last Fall 2025), and achieving career-high rankings of No.11 in singles (March 17) and No.26 in doubles (May 29).
In recent competition, UCLA swept Illinois (4-0) on April 10 and Northwestern (4-1) on April 12 during a road trip through Big Ten opponents. Lutkemeyer clinched the win over Illinois while Mayu Crossley and Kate Fakih also secured singles victories; against Northwestern, Crossley earned another straight-set win alongside Lutkemeyer and Bianca Fernandez before Ahmani Guichard completed the comeback with a three-set victory.
Freshman Mayu Crossley has made an immediate impact this year by earning five Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors—more than any other player this season—and holding a dual match record of 15-3 primarily at Court 2.
Looking back over three decades under head coach Stella Sampras Webster’s leadership—now entering her thirtieth year—the Bruins have compiled an overall record of 555–207 (.728). Sampras Webster has led teams to NCAA championships in both 2014 and 2008 as well as three conference titles: Pac-12 crowns from 2008 through their last one before joining Big Ten competition.
