No. 25 UCLA women’s volleyball will host Oregon and Maryland in a two-match homestand at Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom Financial. The Bruins face Oregon on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. PT, followed by Maryland on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. PT. Both matches will be broadcast nationally on the Big Ten Network.

UCLA, currently ranked No. 25 in the AVCA Coaches Poll, has an 11-7 overall record and is 5-3 in Big Ten play. The team recently split a road trip, losing to No. 9 Wisconsin in straight sets before sweeping Iowa. Against Wisconsin, UCLA struggled offensively, hitting .062, while Wisconsin was led by Mimi Colyer’s 16 kills. Marianna Singletary led the Bruins with 11.5 points. In the Iowa match, UCLA hit .319 and recorded a season-high nine aces. Cheridyn Leverette led with 15 kills and reached her 1,000th career kill. Kate Duffey contributed 35 assists and six aces.

“Kate Duffey garnered Big Ten Setter of the Week honors after orchestrating UCLA’s offensive dominance by dishing out 66 assists in the team’s back-to-back ranked sweeps. She went for 36 assists and nine digs in an excellent performance at No. 14 Minnesota and followed that up with her fourth double-double of the season, handing out 30 assists and snuffing out 11 digs against No. 22 USC. Defensively, she totaled five blocks and 20 digs. This is the first weekly honor of Duffey’s career.”

“Marianna Singletary was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after anchoring UCLA’s defense, averaging a formidable 2.00 blocks per set across the two-match stretch. She racked up 12 total blocks, including one solo, while adding 14 kills on an impressive .400 hitting percentage to round out a dominant all-around performance. This is Singletary’s fourth career conference weekly honor. The Charleston, S.C. native won three consecutive SEC Defensive Player of the Week awards last season at Texas.”

UCLA has secured three ranked wins this season against Penn State, Minnesota, and USC. Cheridyn Leverette leads the team in scoring with 4.09 points per set and 3.75 kills per set. Freshman Eliana Urzua is the team’s second-leading scorer. Lola Schumacher leads the Big Ten in digs per set and is third in total digs. Marianna Singletary is among the conference leaders in blocks.

The Bruins welcomed 10 newcomers for the 2025 season, including five transfers and five freshmen. Head Coach Alfee Reft is in his third season, and Nick Vogel joined as an assistant coach after working with the UCLA men’s volleyball program.

UCLA was picked to finish fifth in the 2025 Big Ten Women’s Volleyball Preseason Poll. Four Bruins—Cheridyn Leverette, Maggie Li, Marianna Singletary, and Phekran Kong—were named to the preseason All-Conference Team.

The team finished its inaugural Big Ten season with a 14-15 overall record and 8-12 in conference play, tying for 10th place. This season, UCLA has improved its performance in five-set matches, currently holding a 2-1 record.

The upcoming matches against Oregon and Maryland will provide UCLA with opportunities to continue its momentum in conference play.
