UCLA Women’s Soccer has announced the addition of Danielle de Serière as assistant coach, completing Head Coach Gof Boyoko’s staff. De Serière brings 12 years of experience coaching goalkeepers at UC Irvine, where she contributed to four Big West titles and three NCAA tournament appearances between 2014 and 2025. During her tenure, the team reached the Round of 16 in consecutive seasons in 2022 and 2023.
De Serière also coached for U.S. Youth National Teams, serving as goalkeeper coach for the U-16 team in 2017 and 2018, and for the U-15 team in 2018.
“Danielle brings an exceptional combination of elite playing experience, international perspective, and proven goalkeeper development at the highest collegiate and national levels,” said Boyoko. “She understands the demands of the position inside and out — technically, tactically, and mentally. Her track record speaks for itself, and her standards align perfectly with the environment we’re building at UCLA. We’re excited to welcome her to Westwood and know our goalkeepers will benefit immediately from her leadership and expertise.”
De Serière is a member of UC Irvine’s Athletics Hall of Fame. She holds school records for wins (43), shutouts (31), goals-against-average (0.80), and ranks second in saves (271). In 2010, she was named Big West Goalkeeper of the Year after setting single-season records in wins (19) and shutouts (11). That year, UC Irvine advanced to the NCAA Round of 16 with a record of 19-3-2. After college, she played professionally with FC Twente in the Netherlands from 2011 to 2013.
“I’m really grateful to Gof and (Associate Athletics Director) Derek Moos for the opportunity and the trust they’ve put in me to join UCLA Women’s Soccer,” said de Serière. “As an LA native, this means a lot to me, and I’m excited to work alongside Gof, the staff he’s built, and our goalkeepers as we compete for championships and represent the Bruin community and the city of Los Angeles.”
De Serière joins Cole Schmit and Molly Feighan on Boyoko’s first coaching staff. She graduated from UC Irvine in 2014 with a degree in history.
