No. 4-ranked UCLA Bruins women’s basketball team, holding a 12-1 overall record and 2-0 in Big Ten Conference play, will continue its conference-opening road trip with a game against Penn State on Wednesday, December 31. The matchup will take place at Rec Hall in University Park, Pennsylvania, with tip-off scheduled for 11 a.m. Pacific Time (2 p.m. Eastern Time). The game will be broadcast on Peacock, featuring Sloane Martin and Kim Adams as commentators. Radio coverage will be available via UCLA Digital Radio and SiriusXM channels, with Dave Marcus providing commentary.
This marks UCLA’s first-ever visit to University Park to face the Penn State Lady Lions. It is the fifth meeting between the two programs; UCLA leads the all-time series 3-1. Their most recent encounter occurred on January 15, 2025, at Long Beach State’s Walter Pyramid after wildfires forced a closure of the UCLA campus that month. In that game, Lauren Betts recorded 22 points, 12 rebounds, and seven blocks. Teammates Angela Dugalić (11 points, eight rebounds), Kiki Rice (10 points, five rebounds, five assists), and Gabriela Jaquez (10 points, seven rebounds) also scored in double digits.
In their last outing on December 28 against No. 19 Ohio State, the Bruins secured an 82-75 victory before Ohio State’s largest home crowd of the season (8,455 attendees). Lauren Betts achieved her fourth double-double of the season with 18 points and 16 rebounds along with four assists and three blocks—nine of her rebounds were offensive boards compared to Ohio State’s ten as a team. Five Bruins finished in double figures: Betts (18), Rice (16), Dugalić (15), Jaquez (12), and Gianna Kneepkens (12). Notably, Rice ended the third quarter by making a long-range shot from beyond half court following an Ohio State buzzer-beater.
The Bruins have now recorded their second conference win and fourth victory over a ranked opponent this season.
