No. 4-ranked UCLA Bruins women’s basketball team, holding a 12-1 overall record and 2-0 in Big Ten Conference play, will continue its conference-opening road trip with a game against Penn State on Wednesday, December 31. The matchup will take place at Rec Hall in University Park, Pennsylvania, with tip-off scheduled for 11 a.m. Pacific Time (2 p.m. Eastern Time). This marks UCLA’s first-ever visit to University Park to face the Penn State Lady Lions. It is the fifth meeting between the two programs; UCLA leads the all-time series 3-1. Their most recent encounter occurred on January 15, 2025, at Long Beach State’s Walter Pyramid after wildfires forced a closure of the UCLA campus that month. In that game, Lauren Betts recorded 22 points, 12 rebounds, and seven blocks. Lauren Betts achieved her fourth double-double of the season with 18 points and 16 rebounds along with four assists and three blocks—nine of her rebounds were offensive boards compared to Ohio State’s ten as a team. Notably, Rice ended the third quarter by making a long-range shot from beyond half court following an Ohio State buzzer-beater.
