The UCLA women’s golf team, currently ranked No. 23, is set to face off against No. 2-ranked USC in the fourth annual Battle of LA on Friday, January 23. The event will take place at Rancho La Quinta Golf Club and will begin at 8 a.m. Pacific Time.

The competition between these two prominent programs is not open to the public and live scoring will not be available. Updates throughout the day can be found on the team’s official X account, @UCLAWomensGolf.

UCLA and USC both have strong records in NCAA women’s golf, each having won three national championships.

The match play format awards one point for each individual match victory, with halved points for tied matches after 18 holes. If the teams are tied in total points after all matches are completed, the winner will be determined by counting the total number of holes won during play.

Pairings for Friday’s matches include:
– Jenny Lee vs. Elise Lee (8:00 a.m.)
– Maye Huang vs. Sarah Hammett (8:09 a.m.)
– Jennifer Seo vs. Kylie Chong (8:18 a.m.)
– Kacey Ly vs. Catherine Park (8:27 a.m.)
– GaEun Athena Yoo vs. Bailey Shoemaker (8:36 a.m.)

USC won last year’s Battle of LA with a score of 3.5 to 1.5 at Palos Verdes Golf Club, while UCLA secured victories in both the 2024 and 2023 events at Bel-Air Country Club and Rolling Hills Country Club respectively.
