The UCLA women’s golf team finished third among 16 teams at the Alice and John Wallace Classic, held at Monterey Country Club in Palm Desert, California. The Bruins posted a combined score of 870 (+18) over three days, with rounds of 293, 284, and 293.
USC secured first place with a total score of 835 (-17), while Eastern Michigan claimed second with a score of 861 (+9). Eastern Michigan overtook UCLA on the final day by shooting a team round of 282 (-2).
Freshman Kacey Ly led UCLA by tying for fourth place out of 96 golfers. She finished at even par (213) with rounds of 73, 69, and 71. Ly’s second-round score of 69 was her third sub-70 round this season and the lowest single-round total for any Bruin during the tournament. Over the last two rounds, she recorded only two bogeys.
Sophomore Angela Liu finished in twelfth place with a four-over-par total (217), posting scores of 73, 72, and 72.
Junior Jennifer Seo competed as an individual and tied for eighteenth place—the first top-20 finish in her career. Seo began the event with a personal best round of one-under-par (70) before finishing at seven-over-par (220).
Following these results, UCLA’s season record stands at 52 wins, 15 losses, and three ties. This performance keeps them above the .500 winning percentage required to qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
UCLA is scheduled to co-host the Bruin Wave Invitational presented by Capillus alongside Pepperdine from February 23-24 at Valencia Country Club in Santa Clarita. Last year, UCLA won this event by a margin of twenty-two strokes.
