UCLA Athletics announced on Mar. 12 that the No. 1 ranked UCLA Bruins women’s beach volleyball team will host the East Meets West Invitational at the Manhattan Beach Pier on March 13 and 14. The tournament will feature top teams including Texas, Arizona State, LMU, California, LSU, Hawai’i, and FIU. Admission to the event is free.
The invitational brings together several of the nation’s highest-ranked programs for two days of competition. Play begins Friday with UCLA facing Arizona State at 9 a.m., followed by a match against LSU at 1 p.m. On Saturday, UCLA will play Texas at 10 a.m. and FIU at 2 p.m. Live scores will be available throughout the tournament via Statbroadcast.
The Bruins enter the event after going undefeated in their last four matches during the MPSF Midseason Rumble, where they defeated three ranked opponents and dropped only two points overall. Sally Perez and Maggie Boyd extended their winning streak to five matches on court one, while Harper Cooper remains unbeaten this season with a record of 13-0.
Senior Maggie Boyd recently moved up to ninth place on UCLA’s all-time career victory list with her 104th win. She has also achieved significant success as part of pairs teams, ranking tied for fourth in school history alongside Sally Perez with 43 wins as a duo.
Head coach Jenny Johnson Jordan is in her third season leading the Bruins and was named MPSF Coach of the Year in 2025 after guiding UCLA to an NCAA semifinal appearance last year. Assistant coaches include Kelly Reeves and Theo Brunner.
Following this weekend’s invitational, UCLA will take a week off for finals before returning to action at the Texas Invitational on March 27-28.
