The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) announced on April 21 that its top-ranked women’s beach volleyball team will compete as the No. 2 seed in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Beach Volleyball Championship Tournament from April 22 to April 24 at Spiker Beach in Huntington Beach, California.

The tournament features ten teams and includes eight ranked squads, with four of the top five nationally competing for an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. UCLA’s opening match is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22 at 1:30 p.m., where they will face either Louisiana State University or San Jose State.

This season, UCLA has posted a strong record against ranked opponents, going 20-4 overall and earning notable victories over Stanford, Cal Poly, and USC. The Bruins have also extended their NCAA record home winning streak to 37 matches following a recent win over CSU Bakersfield. Senior Maggie Boyd has moved into a tie for fourth place on UCLA’s all-time career victories list with her teammate Sally Perez close behind; both were named semifinalists for the AVCA Beach Player of the Year award.

Head coach Jenny Johnson Jordan enters her third season leading UCLA after being named MPSF Coach of the Year in 2025. Assistant coaches include Kelly Reeves and Theo Brunner. Johnson Jordan has guided the Bruins to consistent success since taking over as head coach and previously contributed to back-to-back NCAA titles as an assistant coach.

The semifinals and final matches of this year’s MPSF tournament will be televised on Big Ten Network on Friday, April 24. Earlier rounds will be available via streaming on Big Ten Plus.
