The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) announced on Mar. 10 that its No. 7-ranked softball team will face Loyola Marymount University (LMU) at Easton Stadium on Wednesday, March 11 at 6 p.m. Pacific Time. The Bruins enter the matchup with a record of 21-3 overall and a perfect 3-0 in Big Ten Conference play, riding a 15-game winning streak after sweeping Wisconsin last weekend.
This game is significant as it continues UCLA’s strong start to the season and offers fans another opportunity to see the team compete at home. Single-game tickets for all remaining home games are available for purchase, and fans can also gain admission through the Olympic Sports Card.
Key players have contributed to UCLA’s success this season. Megan Grant leads the nation in several offensive categories, including slugging percentage, on-base percentage, OPS, and walks. She has reached base in all 24 games so far this year and is averaging one home run every 2.9 at-bats. Jordan Woolery is currently the NCAA leader in RBIs and ranks highly in total bases and home runs. Both Grant and Woolery were named to the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 50 Watch List along with teammate Taylor Tinsley.
Head coach Kelly Inouye-Perez recently became UCLA’s all-time winningest head coach with her 888th career victory after defeating Florida on Feb. 27. Under her leadership, UCLA has made an NCAA-record number of Women’s College World Series appearances and continues to be a dominant force in collegiate softball.
Fans who cannot attend in person can watch non-televised home games via Big Ten Plus streaming service.
