The University of California, Los Angeles announced on April 17 that its No. 9 ranked softball team will face longtime rival California in a double-header at Easton Stadium this Saturday. The games are scheduled for noon and 2:30 p.m. Pacific Time and will be available for viewing on BigTenPlus.com.

This matchup is notable as both UCLA and California were members of the Pac-12 Conference together from 1987 to 2024, marking decades of competition between the two programs. The games offer fans an opportunity to see key players potentially break long-standing records.

UCLA has set a program record with 145 home runs this season, just two shy of tying the Big Ten record set by Ohio State last year. Seven Bruins have reached double-digit home runs for the first time in school history, with Megan Grant and Jordan Woolery leading the charge. Grant is one home run away from tying Stacey Nuveman’s program record of 31 set in 1999, while Woolery needs two more RBIs to surpass Nuveman’s RBI record from that same year.

Head coach Kelly Inouye-Perez achieved her milestone 900th career victory earlier this season and became UCLA softball’s all-time winningest head coach after securing her 888th win against Florida. Inouye-Perez has led UCLA through numerous successful seasons, including an NCAA-record Women’s College World Series appearance in 2025.

Fans interested in attending can purchase single-game tickets or Olympic Sports Cards for admission to all remaining home games. Non-televised contests can be streamed through Big Ten Plus (B1G+), which offers annual and monthly subscription options.
