The UCLA softball team, ranked No. 8 nationally, completed a sweep of Wisconsin in their Big Ten series with a 16-9 win at Easton Stadium on Sunday. This victory extends the Bruins’ winning streak to 15 games, which began after the final day of the Clearwater Invitational on February 15.

UCLA’s offense was led by three home runs from Megan Grant, Alexis Ramirez, and Jolyna Lamar. Ramirez hit her second grand slam in two weeks and ended the game with six RBIs after going 3-for-3 at the plate.

Jordan Woolery tied a UCLA single-game record by hitting three doubles during her 4-for-5 performance. The last time a Bruin achieved this was Aaliyah Jordan in March 2019. Woolery also matched her career high by scoring three runs.

The early innings saw multiple lead changes before UCLA took control with a five-run third inning. Jolyna Lamar started the rally with her fourth home run of the year, followed by Megan Grant’s NCAA-leading 18th home run of the season. Alexis Ramirez added an RBI single and Aleena Garcia drew a bases-loaded walk to complete the scoring for that inning.

Wisconsin narrowed UCLA’s lead to two runs in the fourth inning after Hilary Blomberg hit a two-run homer and Kaylie Whidden added an RBI single. However, UCLA responded as Ramirez hit another grand slam in the bottom half of the fourth.

Soo-Jin Berry contributed UCLA’s final run with an RBI single in the sixth inning and remained perfect as a pinch hitter over the weekend.

Taylor Tinsley earned all three wins for UCLA during this series. On Sunday, she allowed four runs (three unearned) across eight hits and three walks while striking out three batters, improving her season record to 12-2.

UCLA will next face LMU at Easton Stadium on Wednesday, March 11 at 6 p.m., with streaming available via BigTenPlus.com (B1G+). Tickets are available for purchase online.
