The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) softball team will face No. 9 Nebraska in a three-game series at Bowlin Stadium in Lincoln from March 27 to March 29. The Bruins, ranked No. 7 with a record of 28-3 and undefeated in Big Ten play at 9-0, will take on the Huskers (24-5, 6-0 Big Ten) as both teams look to extend their current double-digit winning streaks.
This matchup is significant as both programs are among the nation’s best this season and are riding impressive win streaks—UCLA has won its last 22 games while Nebraska has claimed victory in its last 13. The series also marks UCLA’s first visit to Nebraska since the Women’s College World Series held in Omaha in 1987.
Game one is scheduled for Friday at 6:02 p.m. Pacific Time and will be broadcast on FS1, with Noah Reed and Sydney Supple providing commentary. Games two and three can be streamed online via BigTenPlus.com. Live stats for all games will be available through ucla.statbroadcast.com.
The Bruins enter Week Eight holding several national distinctions: they have run-ruled opponents in seven consecutive games—a program record—and have hit over 100 home runs this season for only the second time under hitting coach Lisa Fernandez. Head coach Kelly Inouye-Perez recently achieved her milestone 900th career win and became UCLA’s all-time winningest head coach earlier this year.
Several players have received individual honors this season. Kaniya Bragg was named Big Ten Player of the Week after an outstanding performance against Rutgers, while Megan Grant leads the nation in slugging percentage, on-base percentage, OPS, walks, and holds a remarkable home run rate. Jordan Woolery leads NCAA Division I softball with RBIs and total bases.
Looking ahead, single-game tickets remain available for all ten remaining UCLA home games through official channels or by purchasing an Olympic Sports Card that grants admission to every home game.
