Senior pitcher Taylor Tinsley led the UCLA Bruins softball team to an 8-0 win over Wisconsin at Easton Stadium on Saturday night. With this victory, UCLA, ranked No. 8 nationally, extended its winning streak to 14 games and secured a Big Ten series win against the Badgers.
Tinsley pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing only two hits and three walks while striking out five batters in five innings. She threw 89 pitches during the game, with her longest inning coming in the fifth when she faced five batters. This marks Tinsley’s third complete-game shutout of the season and the 11th of her collegiate career.
The Bruins scored eight runs across the first two innings. Rylee Slimp started with a single, followed by Megan Grant drawing a walk. Kaniya Bragg delivered an RBI single to put UCLA ahead early. Ramsey Suarez then hit a three-run home run, giving UCLA a 4-0 lead after one inning.
Suarez has increased her power numbers significantly this season, now totaling five home runs and 24 RBIs for 2026 despite limited starts. She entered the year with just two career home runs.
In the second inning, Alexis Ramirez singled and later scored on an RBI single from Grant. Jordan Woolery hit her third three-run homer of the series to extend UCLA’s lead to 8-0. Woolery now leads NCAA Division I in RBIs with 50 through just 23 games and ranks second on her team in home runs behind Grant.
Megan Grant’s plate appearances included a single, a walk, and a strikeout; however, she saw her four-game home run streak end during this contest.
Wisconsin starting pitcher Berritt Herr took the loss after allowing eight earned runs over less than two innings pitched.
UCLA will aim for its first Big Ten series sweep of the season against Wisconsin on Sunday morning at Easton Stadium. The game will be streamed live on BigTenPlus.com (B1G+).
