TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its Academic Awards on Monday, recognizing the UCLA men’s tennis team and seven of its student-athletes for their academic achievements.
UCLA was honored as an ITA All-Academic Team after achieving a team grade-point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher during the 2024-25 academic year. This marks the sixth consecutive year that head coach Billy Martin’s teams have received this award.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or above for the academic year. Seniors Alexander Hoogmartens and Giacomo Revelli, junior Gianluca Ballotta, redshirt sophomore Emon van Loben Sels, and freshmen Kaylan Bigun, Cassius Chinlund, and Andrei Crabel were recognized with this honor.
Hoogmartens and Revelli earned their fourth Scholar-Athlete titles with these awards. Ballotta and van Loben Sels each achieved this status for the second time after being recognized in 2023 as well. Bigun, Chinlund, and Crabel qualified in their first eligible year.
