UCLA men’s water polo leads MPSF with 15 all-academic selections for 2025

UCLA’s men’s water polo team had 15 student-athletes named to the 6-8 Sports/MPSF All-Academic Team for the 2025 season, according to an announcement from the league office. This is the fifth time in six years, and the second consecutive year, that UCLA has led the league in number of honorees.

To qualify for the MPSF All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic year at their institution, maintained a minimum grade point average of 3.0, and participated in at least half of their team’s games during the season.

The following Bruins were recognized: Bode Brinkema (Pre-International Development Studies), Gray Carson (Economics), Peter Castillo (Pre-Political Science), Chase Dodd (Environmental Science), Ryder Dodd (Pre-Mathematics/Economics), Trey Doten (Economics), Frederico Jucá Carsalade (International Development Studies), Ben Larsen (Political Science), Ben Liechty (Political Science), Eli Liechty (Political Science), Max Matthews (Molecular, Cell & Developmental Biology), Vinnie Merk (Political Science), Noah Rowe (Geography/Environmental Studies), Wade Sherlock (Political Science) and Nate Tauscher (Political Science).

“It marks the fifth time in the last six years, and the second straight season, that UCLA has led the league in All-Academic team members,” stated the league office.
