The UCLA men’s tennis team, ranked No. 21 nationally, is set to finish its regular season with away matches in the Pacific Northwest, starting against No. 51 Oregon on April 17 and followed by a contest at Washington on April 19.

These final regular-season matches are significant as they will determine the Bruins’ momentum heading into postseason play. Fans can follow live coverage of both matches through streaming and live scoring links provided by the host universities.

UCLA currently holds a strong record this season at 14-6 overall and 8-3 in Big Ten play. The team recently split home results, falling to Illinois before defeating Northwestern. Notable performances included singles wins from Cassius Chinlund and Aadarsh Tripathi against Illinois, while Andy Nguyen, Emon van Loben Sels, and Chinlund secured victories versus Northwestern.

In recent history, UCLA has dominated both upcoming opponents—leading the all-time series against Oregon 34-1 and Washington 42-4. Their most recent matchups resulted in decisive Bruin victories last March.

Several players have achieved individual milestones this year: Spencer Johnson reached his 100th career win across singles and doubles; Emon van Loben Sels also surpassed the century mark for combined wins; Tripathi approaches that milestone as well. Van Loben Sels has developed a reputation for clinching close matches for UCLA, including key wins during last year’s Big Ten Tournament championship run that ended Ohio State’s long home winning streak.

Returning standouts include All-Americans Johnson and Tripathi along with Quan—the Big Ten’s reigning Freshman of the Year—and Ballotta who excelled in doubles play last season. Newcomers such as Chinlund (a former top-ranked junior), Nguyen (transferring from UC Irvine), Reinhard (from Germany), and Steinberg have joined the roster for added depth.

Head coach Billy Martin continues his storied tenure in charge of UCLA men’s tennis into his thirty-third year as head coach—holding a career record of 690-181—and remains one of college tennis’ most decorated coaches.
