UCLA men’s golf to compete at The Desimone Invitational in Daly City

The UCLA men’s golf team will participate in The Desimone Invitational at Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City, California, on March 9 and 10. The tournament will feature 15 collegiate teams, including ten ranked among the top 40 nationally.

This event is part of UCLA’s spring schedule and marks their fourth tournament of the season. The competition consists of 54 holes played over two days, with two rounds scheduled for Monday and one round on Tuesday. Play begins at 8:45 a.m. Pacific Time on Monday and resumes at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The field includes teams such as Arizona State (ranked ninth), Texas (fourth), Pepperdine (tenth), USC (twenty-fifth), and UCLA itself (thirty-third). Other participating programs are Arizona, California, Loyola Marymount, San Jose State, Southern Methodist, Texas Christian, Utah, Wake Forest, Washington, and Washington State.

UCLA’s lineup for the tournament features Baylor Larrabee, Tyler Loree, Josh Kim, Trevor Garus, and Kyle An. In their most recent outing at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas from March 1-3, UCLA finished tied for twelfth place out of fifteen teams after shooting a combined score of twenty-two over par. Earlier this spring at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate in Hawai’i from February 5-7, they placed fourteenth among twenty teams.

Lake Merced Golf Club is a par-72 course measuring 6,915 yards. Weather forecasts predict partly cloudy conditions with highs in the low sixties during the event. Fans can follow live scoring through Scoreboard during both days of play.

The Bruins’ roster for the current season includes seniors Kyle An and Matthew Yamin; juniors Luciano Conlan and Alex Papayoanou; sophomores Trevor Garus, Logan Kim, and Baylor Larrabee; as well as freshmen Josh Kim and Tyler Loree.
