The UCLA Bruins men’s basketball team is set to face the Oregon Ducks on Wednesday at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon. The game, scheduled for 8 p.m. Pacific Time, will be broadcast nationally on the Big Ten Network and can also be heard locally on AM 790 (KABC).

UCLA enters the matchup with a 14-6 overall record and a 6-3 mark in conference play. The Bruins have won nine of their last thirteen games and are coming off two home victories last week: a narrow win over No. 4 Purdue (69-67) and a 71-64 result against Northwestern. In these contests, Donovan Dent averaged 18 points and nine assists per game while shooting over 53 percent from the field.

Against Purdue, UCLA overcame a six-point deficit with under two minutes remaining. Key plays included a three-pointer by Dent, a layup by Eric Dailey Jr., and Tyler Bilodeau’s game-winning three-pointer with eight seconds left. “Bilodeau and Trent Perry each had 18 points in the win last weekend over Northwestern,” according to team sources.

UCLA has performed well this season when leading at halftime or building significant leads, holding records of 12-1 and 13-1 respectively in those situations. Five players are averaging double figures in scoring, led by senior Tyler Bilodeau with an average of 18.2 points per game.

In free throw shooting, UCLA achieved a perfect mark earlier this month by making all 21 attempts in a win at Penn State—setting the program’s best performance since at least 1970.

The Bruins have dominated recent matchups against Oregon, winning seven of their last nine meetings including a victory earlier this season at Pauley Pavilion (74-63). When playing at Matthew Knight Arena, UCLA has claimed two wins in its past three visits.

Looking ahead, after Wednesday’s road game against Oregon, UCLA will host Indiana on Saturday afternoon for the Hoosiers’ first-ever appearance at Pauley Pavilion. The team encourages fans to participate in a “White Out” for that contest.

Tyler Bilodeau continues to lead the team offensively and ranks among the top scorers in the Big Ten Conference. Over his last ten games he has averaged nearly twenty points per contest while maintaining strong shooting percentages both from the field and free throw line.

Sophomore Trent Perry has also made significant contributions this season after increasing his averages across key statistical categories compared to his freshman year.

Senior guard Donovan Dent transferred from New Mexico before this season and is averaging nearly thirteen points along with almost seven assists per game—ranking third among all Big Ten players in assists per outing through Monday.

Defensively, UCLA’s program has produced several standout performers recognized both within conference honors and national awards over recent seasons.

This year’s roster includes returning contributors as well as new transfers such as Xavier Booker (Michigan State), Jamar Brown (UMKC), Steven Jamerson II (San Diego), Anthony Peoples Jr. (North Carolina Central), and Donovan Dent himself. Three current Bruins were named to positional award watch lists prior to the start of play: Dent for point guard honors; Dailey Jr., small forward; Bilodeau, power forward.

Coach Mick Cronin remains one of college basketball’s most successful active coaches based on total wins since taking over prior to the 2019–20 season. Under his leadership, UCLA maintains an impressive home record inside Pauley Pavilion where they have won fourteen consecutive games dating back to last year.

Eight members of this year’s fifteen-man roster hail from Southern California—with five from Los Angeles County alone—and all players are United States natives.

UCLA currently ranks third in its conference for three-point shooting percentage (37.6%) through twenty games played this season.
