Mayu Crossley, a freshman on the UCLA women’s tennis team, has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season. The announcement was made by the conference on Wednesday. This is also her second consecutive weekly honor.

Crossley played a key role in UCLA’s recent 6-1 victory over No. 8 USC on February 27. She secured both singles and doubles wins during the match. In singles play, Crossley defeated Immi Haddad 6-2, 6-4 on Court 2, marking her fifth straight singles win and improving her dual singles record to 7-1, which leads the team.

In doubles, Crossley partnered with fellow freshman Kayla Chung to beat Haddad and Emma Charney 6-2 on Court 3. The pair now holds a 4-2 record together.

The Bruins clinched their win against USC after reaching four points, though all matches were completed.

Crossley and senior Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer again swept the Big Ten’s Freshman and Player of the Week honors this week. Previously, Crossley had won both awards on February 4 and received her first Freshman of the Week honor on November 12, 2025. No other program has earned more than two Freshman of the Week awards during the current season.
