The UCLA Foundation has appointed Laurie Gordon and Todd Katz to its board of directors, with their terms commencing on July 1. The board, consisting of volunteer members, ex-officio members, and staff, serves as key advisors to the university and promotes philanthropy across the campus. It also oversees the UCLA Investment Company, which manages the foundation’s endowment and assets.

Laurie Gordon has been a philanthropic partner with UCLA for over ten years. In memory of her son Max, she established the Max Gray Fund for the Treatment of Mood Disorders at the Jane and Terry Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior in 2014. This fund supports postdoctoral fellowships in mood disorder clinics at the institute. In 2018, she and her husband Steven created an initiative at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA aimed at advancing Parkinson’s disease research.

Gordon holds a law degree from Hofstra University School of Law and is a former vice president of Warner Bros. International Theatres. She serves on several advisory boards within UCLA and received the UCLA Fiat Lux Award in 2023 for her service to the university.

Todd Katz brings decades of experience in commercial real estate to his role on the board. He co-founded Century Park Partners, LLC in 1996 but shifted focus to philanthropy in 2012. Katz has been involved with YMCA since childhood and currently serves on various committees within YMCA organizations in Los Angeles.

Katz earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from UCLA in 1983 and continues to support UCLA through service on multiple advisory boards.

As Gordon and Katz join the board, Julio Herrera, Diana Ingram, and past chair Craig Ehrlich have concluded their leadership roles as of June 30. Herrera served since 2021; Ingram joined in 2018; Ehrlich was part of the board since 2015.
