The UCLA football team will face Penn State at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Saturday, October 4. This marks the first time the Bruins host the Nittany Lions at this venue. The game is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. Pacific Time and will be broadcast nationally on CBS, with Brad Nessler providing play-by-play commentary, Gary Danielson as analyst, and Jenny Dell reporting from the sidelines.

Local fans can listen to live coverage on AM 790, which serves as the new home of the UCLA Bruins Audio Network. Josh Lewin will handle play-by-play duties on radio, joined by analyst Matt Stevens and sideline reporter Wayne Cook. Nick Koop will host pre- and post-game segments.

Tim Skipper has been named interim head coach for UCLA following DeShaun Foster’s departure from his head coaching role on September 14, 2025. Skipper previously served as special assistant to Foster earlier this season. Last year, he acted as Fresno State’s interim head coach starting in July 2024 and led them to a bowl appearance with a 6-7 record. He also coached Fresno State during their victory over New Mexico State in the 2023 New Mexico Bowl. Skipper’s experience includes roles as defensive coordinator at UNLV (2018-19) and assistant head coach positions at Colorado State, Central Michigan, and Fresno State.

In their most recent game on September 27, UCLA lost to Northwestern by a score of 17-14 at Martin Stadium in Evanston, Illinois. The Bruins rallied from a 17-point deficit but could not secure field goal position during their final drives in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Nico Iamaleava completed 19 of his 27 pass attempts for 180 yards and one touchdown while leading the team with 65 rushing yards.

Iamaleava has averaged nearly 200 passing yards per game across his first four starts for UCLA and has led the team in rushing yards in three out of four games so far this season. Defensively, UCLA has limited opponents to just over 130 passing yards per game over its last two contests—one of its best two-game stretches since 2018.

Linebackers Isaiah Chisom and JonJon Vaughns rank among national leaders in tackles per game; Chisom is third nationally while Vaughns is seventh. Wide receiver Kwazi Gilmer extended his streak to catches in thirteen consecutive games after scoring his first touchdown of the season against Northwestern.

Junior kicker Mateen Bhaghani remains perfect on field goals this year with seven successful attempts, including two from beyond forty yards. True freshman tight end Noah Fox-Flores recorded both his first career catch and touchdown earlier this month against UNLV.

Running back Anthony Woods scored UCLA’s opening touchdown of the season during his debut against Utah—a receiving score that was also a career high for him in receiving yards.

UCLA’s current roster features significant turnover with fifty-nine new players joining ahead of this season—the most since at least 2012—including thirty-seven transfers and twenty-two true freshmen. Nine incoming transfers started against Utah.

Quarterback Nico Iamaleava transferred from Tennessee where he led that program to an eleven-win season and a College Football Playoff appearance last year before returning home to Southern California for his Bruin debut.

Ticket packages for all home games during UCLA’s inaugural Big Ten season are available through the official athletics website or by contacting UCLA Athletics Sales and Service via phone or email.
