The UCLA football team is set to face Nebraska on Saturday, November 8 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The game, which is part of the Big Ten Conference schedule, will begin at 6:10 p.m. Pacific Time and will be broadcast on FOX. Local fans can also listen to live coverage on AM 790, now the home of the UCLA Bruins Audio Network.
Tim Skipper has taken over as UCLA’s interim head coach for the rest of the 2025 season after DeShaun Foster was relieved of his duties in September. Skipper previously served as special assistant to Foster earlier this year. He brings experience from Fresno State, where he led the Bulldogs as interim head coach during their 2024 season and bowl appearance, as well as previous coaching roles at UNLV, Colorado State, Central Michigan, Florida, and other programs.
UCLA comes into this matchup following a loss to Indiana on October 25 that ended its three-game winning streak. Indiana outpaced UCLA both offensively and defensively with a final score of 56-6. Quarterback Nico Iamaleava completed 13-of-27 passes for 113 yards with two interceptions in that game. Linebacker JonJon Vaughns recorded his fifth double-digit tackle performance this season with a game-high thirteen tackles.
The Bruins have shown improvement since Skipper assumed leadership responsibilities alongside senior defensive analyst Kevin Coyle as play-caller. Over their last five games, they have reduced opponents’ average yards by nearly eighty-four per game and tripled their average tackles-for-loss compared to their first three games.
UCLA’s offense produced notable performances during its recent three-game win streak against Penn State, Michigan State, and Maryland under Skipper’s direction. In these wins—including an upset over No. 7 Penn State—the team scored one hundred points across three games and averaged more than four hundred twenty total offensive yards per contest.
Quarterback Nico Iamaleava leads UCLA in both passing and rushing touchdowns so far this season. His performance against Penn State included five total touchdowns—three rushing (which tied a school record for quarterbacks) and two passing—for nearly three hundred total offensive yards.
Other key contributors include running back Anthony Frias II who had a career-best ninety-seven rushing yards against Maryland; wide receiver Titus Mokiao-Atimalala who posted his first one-hundred-yard receiving game versus Maryland; wide receiver Kwazi Gilmer who has caught passes in eighteen consecutive games; running back Jalen Berger who matched his career high with three touchdowns at Michigan State; and linebacker JonJon Vaughns who leads the Big Ten Conference with nearly ten tackles per game.
