No. 2 UCLA will host CSU Bakersfield on April 14 at Mapes Beach for its last home match of the season, with the event set to begin at 3 p.m. The university announced that seniors Maggie Boyd, Kenzie Brower, and Jayla Shanks will be recognized after the match.
This matchup marks an important milestone for both the team and its senior players as they approach the end of their regular season. Following this game, UCLA will face No. 4 USC on April 16 at Merle Norman Stadium in a dual match broadcast on Big Ten Plus.
The Bruins recently secured a win at the Center of Effort Beach Volleyball Challenge in San Luis Obispo by defeating USC 3-2 in a closely contested championship match. During that tournament, UCLA posted victories over California, Cal Poly, Arizona State, and USC.
Senior Maggie Boyd reached another career highlight by moving into UCLA’s top five all-time wins list with her recent victories. She now has 117 career wins and is tied with Lea Monkhouse; two more wins would place her fourth alongside Savvy Simo. Boyd also became only the eleventh Bruin to achieve at least 100 career victories earlier this year.
Head coach Jenny Johnson Jordan continues her third season leading the Bruins after being named MPSF Coach of the Year in 2025 and guiding UCLA to strong finishes in previous NCAA tournaments. Assistant coaches include Kelly Reeves—UCLA’s first-ever beach volleyball All-American—and Theo Brunner.
UCLA remains highly ranked nationally, holding either No.1 or No.2 positions throughout every AVCA poll this week and maintaining a record of consistent high performance since 2018. Looking ahead, UCLA is scheduled to compete in the MPSF Tournament from April 22-24.
