Sophomore Baylor Larrabee of the UCLA men’s golf team has been named Big Ten Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week, according to an announcement from the Big Ten office on Friday.
Larrabee achieved a third-place finish at the Southwestern Invitational, which concluded on Wednesday. This result makes him the first UCLA men’s golf student-athlete to receive this weekly conference honor since Pablo Ereño in September 2024. The performance also marks Larrabee’s second top-four finish during the 2025-26 season, as he posted a 3-under-par total score of 207 over three days at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, California.
“Baylor’s performance was really impressive,” said UCLA head coach Armen Kirakossian. “That’s a really difficult golf course with tough conditions and firm, fast greens. I’m proud of Baylor. He’s been working hard over the winter break to control the things that he can control, working on his mind, and not allowing himself to be dictated by the outcome of a shot or where he stands in a tournament. We want him to be fully present, to embrace the moment, and to try and execute the best that he can, and to stay as relaxed as possible. I think he did a really good job this week of that. It led him to having a really great result against a strong field at a great tournament. I’m really proud of Baylor, and hopefully he can continue to keep that up this spring.”
The third-place finish represents Larrabee’s career-best showing for UCLA. Earlier in October 2025, he finished fourth at the Fighting Irish Classic hosted by Notre Dame.
During this week’s event at North Ranch Country Club, Larrabee recorded rounds of 68-67-72. His best round came on Tuesday when he shot a 3-under-par 67.
UCLA’s men’s golf team is ranked No. 21 nationally and will next compete at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate in Kona, Hawaii from February 5-7 at Mauna Lani Golf Course.
