The UCLA baseball team defeated USC 10-4 in the series finale at Jackie Robinson Stadium on April 5, completing a three-game sweep of the No. 12-ranked Trojans.
The victory extended the Bruins’ winning streak to 23 games, marking a new program record. UCLA (29-2, 15-0 Big Ten) has now swept five consecutive conference series for the first time in school history.
The game featured five home runs by UCLA players. Mulivai Levu led with two home runs and finished with three hits and three RBIs. Roch Cholowsky also contributed a three-hit day and hit his eleventh homer of the season. Dean West started the scoring with a leadoff home run, while Will Gasparino added his thirteenth homer later in the game.
Payton Brennan continued his strong performance over the weekend by recording his third straight three-hit game. He ended the series going nine-for-thirteen at bat, hitting one home run and collecting six RBIs and four runs scored.
UCLA’s bullpen held USC to just two hits and one run over the final five innings. Chris Grothues earned his first win of the season while Zach Strickland struck out three batters across two scoreless innings to secure his first career save.
