Junior outfielder Will Gasparino and sophomore pitcher Wylan Moss from the top-ranked UCLA baseball team have been recognized with Big Ten Conference weekly honors. The awards follow a 4-0 week for the Bruins, which included a sweep over seventh-ranked TCU.

Gasparino was selected as the Big Ten Player of the Week, while Moss earned Pitcher of the Week recognition. These are the first weekly awards for UCLA since joining the conference and mark the initial career accolades for both athletes.

During last week’s games, Gasparino went 7-for-13 at bat, hit five home runs, drove in 13 runs, recorded 23 total bases, scored seven times, walked four times, and was hit by pitches twice. He played a key role in UCLA’s win against Tulane on Tuesday with multiple home runs and repeated that performance with two more homers during the final game against TCU. Gasparino led the team in slugging percentage at 1.769 and had an on-base percentage of .684. Defensively, he successfully completed all seven fielding opportunities.

Moss contributed to Saturday’s victory over TCU by pitching four scoreless innings in relief of starter Michael Barnett. He struck out ten batters—nine consecutively—to secure the save. Eight of those strikeouts were swinging.

The Bruins will finish their season-opening homestand against San Diego State on Tuesday night before traveling to Arlington, Texas for the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series to face three teams from the SEC. Tickets are available online.
