The UCLA baseball team secured its 16th consecutive win with a 6-2 victory over Loyola Marymount on March 24 at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
This win marks the Bruins’ longest active winning streak in Division I baseball. The team’s strong bullpen performance and key offensive contributions helped maintain their top ranking and continue their impressive season.
Roch Cholowsky led the offense with three hits, while Roman Martin added two hits and drove in two runs. Mulivai Levu extended his hitting streak to six games, contributing an RBI single early in the game. Kasen Khansarinia collected his first collegiate hit during the contest, adding to UCLA’s offensive output.
Justin Lee earned his second win of the season after pitching effectively out of the bullpen, striking out two batters in just under two innings. The Bruins’ relievers collectively retired 20 of the last 21 batters faced, shutting down LMU for the final six innings. Elai Iwanaga, Ian May, and Easton Hawk each pitched scoreless frames late in the game to secure the result.
The Bruins took control early by scoring twice in both the first and third innings. Additional runs came in the seventh inning as UCLA built a four-run lead that would hold through to victory.
Looking ahead, UCLA will begin a three-game Big Ten road series against Iowa starting Friday, March 27.
