The UCLA baseball team secured a three-game sweep over Iowa with a 14-6 victory on Sunday afternoon at Duane Banks Field, according to a March 29 announcement. The Bruins, ranked No. 1, improved their record to 25-2 overall and remain undefeated in Big Ten play at 12-0.
This latest win marks the fourth consecutive weekend that UCLA has swept its conference opponents, extending the team’s winning streak to 19 games—their longest since opening the 2010 season with a perfect start.
Roman Martin led the offensive effort for UCLA, hitting two home runs and collecting six runs batted in during a three-hit performance. Dean West, Mulivai Levu, and Will Gasparino each contributed two hits apiece; both West and Gasparino also hit home runs. Roch Cholowsky reached base five times and scored three runs for the Bruins.
On the pitching side, Wylan Moss earned his third win of the season by throwing nearly four scoreless innings in relief. He struck out five batters while allowing only three hits and one walk.
Iowa initially took an early lead after scoring on a wild pitch in the first inning. However, UCLA responded with multiple big innings—including six runs in the fourth—to take control of the game. The Bruins continued to add insurance runs throughout before closing out their victory.
Looking ahead, UCLA will travel to face UC Irvine on Tuesday evening for their next matchup.
