UCLA football players Carson Schwesinger and Oluwafemi Oladejo were selected in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft held at Lambeau Field. Schwesinger was picked 33rd overall by the Cleveland Browns, while Oladejo was chosen 52nd overall by the Tennessee Titans.
Schwesinger’s journey from a zero-star walk-on to a top linebacker is notable. After joining UCLA from Oaks Christian School in 2021, he became a First Team All-American. In the 2024 season, he recorded 136 tackles, four sacks, and two interceptions. He earned first-team All-America recognition by the Associated Press and was a finalist for the Butkus Award. Schwesinger also excelled academically with a GPA of 3.72 as a bioengineering major.
“Schwesinger’s 90 solo tackles led the FBS and were the most by a Big Ten defenseman during the regular season in at least the last 22 years.”
Oladejo’s selection marks another success for UCLA’s defensive line, which has seen players drafted four times in five years. In his senior year, Oladejo started all games as a defensive end and led with 57 tackles and six quarterback hurries. His performance at the Reese’s Senior Bowl helped boost his draft stock.
The NFL Draft will continue on Sunday with rounds four through seven being broadcast on ABC, ESPN, and NFL Network.
