Former UCLA football players Jake Bobo and Quentin Lake faced each other in the NFC Championship game on Sunday, with Bobo’s Seattle Seahawks defeating Lake’s Los Angeles Rams 31-27. The victory sends Seattle to Super Bowl LX, where they will meet the New England Patriots.
Zach Charbonnet, another UCLA alumnus and running back for the Seahawks, did not play in Sunday’s game due to an ACL injury sustained during the divisional round win over San Francisco. Despite his absence, Charbonnet played a significant role in Seattle’s season, scoring 12 rushing touchdowns—ranking him tied for sixth in the league.
Tight end Marcedes Lewis, who played five games this season for Denver and is also a former UCLA player, saw his season end after Denver lost 10-7 to New England in the AFC Championship Game.
Super Bowl LX will take place at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California, with kickoff scheduled for 3:40 p.m. PT on Sunday, February 8. The broadcast will be on NBC with Mike Tirico and Chris Collinsworth providing commentary.
Jake Bobo contributed one catch for a 17-yard touchdown early in the third quarter of Sunday’s game. This marked both his first touchdown reception of the year and his first career playoff touchdown. He also recorded a special teams tackle on the final kickoff of the first half.
Quentin Lake started at safety for Los Angeles and was second on his team with seven tackles. He also had a pass break-up and played every defensive snap during the game.
