Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District's schools enrolled 8,806 students in the 2022-23 school year, 3.4% less than the previous year, according to the California Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.7% of them were boys, and 48.1% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District students was white, accounting for 48.3% of the student population.
