Student Architectural Photography Competition

West students are invited to submit reproduction-quality photographs to support WLAC’s goal to build a gallery of images of the College’s architecture for display on campus.  Images can be traditional or abstract, black-and-white or color.

The eight students whose work is selected to be displayed will each receive $150 per image, sponsored by the West Los Angeles College Foundation.

Guidelines:

  1. Photos may be horizontal or vertical.
  2. Image must be of quality to be enlarged as big as 16” x 20”.  If using a cell phone, set the camera’s setting to the highest possible resolution.
  3. Each student may submit up to three images.
  4. All submittals should include the student’s name, email address, and phone number.
  5. Submittals should be sent as a .jpg or .png attachment to Vicky Nesia, Executive Assistant to the President at nesiavc@wlac.edu.  Please contact Michelle Long-Coffee, Director of Public Relations, if there are any questions about the format at longcoml@wlac.edu.
  6. Deadline for submittal is 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 14.  Students whose work is selected will be notified via the email address provided with the submittal by May 1, 2023.  At that point, a mailing address will be requested so that the check from the WLAC Foundation can be mailed.
 

Please note:

  • The College reserves the right to identify the type of printing employed to produce the final image.
  • All images selected become the property of the College, and no additional payments will be made for multiple uses of said images.
  • Student artists will be given credit for their work
