Calthorp School issued the following announcement on June 8.
We are honored to present El Mundo, Carlthorp School's Spanish Magazine.
El Mundo is a compilation of stories written, translated, and illustrated by Carlthorp students.
In this third edition, we've once again partnered with PILAglobal with their children in mind. Copies of El Mundo along with props to bring stories to life were sent to Canyon Nest for students to enjoy. One of PILA's most essential programs is creating Nests: engaging and beautiful spaces where young children learn, grow and heal. Canyon Nest in Tijuana is housed on a sprawling property where a diverse community of over 800 migrants from Central America, Mexico, and Haiti live together, awaiting resettlement.
Special thanks to our Spanish Department for bringing El Mundo to life. This truly was a collaborative effort and we also owe thanks to our Art Department, Library team, and Service Learning Department.
We hope you enjoy the creativity and imagination of our students in this special publication!
