Seasonal allergies are causing people both time and money this time of the year.
There are more than 50 million Americans who suffer from allergies, according to the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI).
“Minimally invasive intervention is really getting to solve the patient’s problem and not overdoing unnecessary testing, antibiotics and medications," Dr. Jeffrey Feinfield of Bella Vista ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery told Wine Country Times.

The annual cost of allergies is in excess of $18 billion, and allergies are the sixth-leading cause of chronic illness, the ACAAI reported.
Some allergy sufferers have perennial allergic rhinitis, which persists year-round and is usually caused by a sensitivity to animal dander, mold spores, dust mites or cockroaches, according to the ACAAI.
Allergic rhinitis is common and includes runny nose, stuffy nose, itchy nose, eyes and roof of the mouth, and watery eyes. These symptoms be either seasonal or perennial. Allergy shots (immunotherapy) are one way to help those with allergic rhinitis and can help reduce symptoms in 85% of people.
Once allergies are diagnosed, it's suggested that the patient eliminate or decrease exposure to allergens, use medication or begin regular allergy shots.
Sinusitis, which is the swelling of the sinuses, can occur because of allergies, a deviated septum, polyps on the sinus lining or infections.
If medication and other treatments don't seem to help, surgery is another option for sinusitis sufferers.
