Malibu resident Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was booted from InstaGram after the tech giant decided his content was inappropriate for its platform.
“This kind of censorship is counterproductive if our objective is a safe and effective vaccine supply,” Kennedy said in a statement after being kicked off the social media provider. Kennedy was silenced over his views concerning vaccines.
InstaGram is owned by Facebook, which said recently they would engage in an effort to combat anti-vaxxers like Kennedy.
InstaGram noted in a statement that Kennedy was banned “for repeatedly sharing debunked claims.”
His is one of many voices across social media that have suffered censorship due to holding unfavorable options.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis recently said Big Tech censorship is “political manipulation.”
Kennedy’s account reached over 800,000 followers before it was shuttered.
Kennedy has deep connections to the Democratic Party.
His father, Robert F. Kennedy, was a candidate for president when he was assassinated in 1968. Robert F. Kennedy served as U.S. Attorney General from 1961 to 1964.
