UCLA senior men’s golfer Pablo Ereño has been named a Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar for the third year in a row. Ereño, who was also selected as the 2024-25 Big Ten Men’s Golfer of the Year, received first-team Academic All-America Men’s At-Large honors after the Bruins’ spring season.

The criteria for the Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar award require student-athletes to be at least sophomores and to have played in at least half of their team’s rounds with a stroke average below 76.0 in NCAA Division I competition. Nominees must also maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher and be in good standing at their institution. This year, 556 athletes from 190 schools were recognized with this academic honor.

Ereño completed his degree in mathematics/economics at UCLA and has now received the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-America Scholar award three times. He was also an Academic All-District Team selection by College Sports Communicators (CSC). At the end of UCLA’s spring season, Ereño earned third-team Division I All-America recognition from both Golfweek and the GCAA.

He is a two-time Academic All-America honoree and became UCLA’s first men’s golf student-athlete to earn first-team distinction earlier this month. Patrick Cantlay previously received second-team Academic All-America honors in 2011-12, while Ereño secured third-team honors last season.

Ereño finished his collegiate career ranked third on UCLA’s all-time list for scoring average (71.32) and set a program record for most career rounds under par (73). He also placed second for most rounds in the 60s (45) and tied for fifth with 16 top-10 finishes.

At the NCAA Championships held at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, Ereño finished sixth through stroke play, shooting five-under-par over four rounds—becoming UCLA’s first top-10 individual finisher since Lorens Chan in 2014. He was named Big Ten Men’s Golfer of the Year after helping lead UCLA to a team title at the 2025 Big Ten Championships and posted a team-best scoring average of 70.23 during his senior season—the second-best single-season mark in program history.

In September 2024, Ereño claimed his first individual medalist honor at The Tindall tournament in Sammamish, Washington, opening his senior campaign with an 11-under-par score over two days.
