Mayu Crossley, a member of the UCLA women’s tennis team, has received her third Big Ten Freshman of the Week award, according to an announcement made by the conference on Wednesday. This achievement distinguishes her from other freshmen in the league, as no other current freshman has earned more than two such honors.

Crossley’s latest recognition follows her performance in UCLA’s recent match against Pepperdine on February 20. Both teams were ranked among the top 15 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Despite losing in doubles and dropping her first singles set against Sonja Zhiyenbayeva, Crossley came back to win the match 3-6, 6-2, 6-1. Her victory marked her fourth consecutive singles win and tied the overall match at 3-3 for UCLA.

Currently ranked No. 49 in singles by the ITA, Crossley holds a dual singles record of six wins and one loss this season. She previously earned both Big Ten Player and Freshman of the Week awards on February 4 and was also recognized as Freshman of the Week on November 12, 2025.

The list of Big Ten Women’s Tennis Freshmen of the Week for the 2025-26 season includes several players from different universities, with Crossley being honored three times: November 12, February 4, and February 25.
