Senior center Lauren Betts of the UCLA Women’s Basketball team has been named the Student-Athlete of the Week, an honor presented by La Victoria. The award recognizes her performances during athletic competitions held from December 23 to January 5.

Betts played a key role in leading UCLA to three consecutive victories as they began their conference schedule. This included wins over two ranked opponents: No. 19 Ohio State and No. 17 USC. Over these games, Betts averaged 20.3 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. She recorded double-doubles in both ranked matchups, scoring 18 points with 16 rebounds against Ohio State, where she collected nine offensive rebounds—nearly matching Ohio State’s total offensive boards for the game.

On New Year’s Eve at Penn State, Betts scored a season-high 25 points in just 25 minutes on the court. She followed this with an 18-point, 12-rebound performance that contributed to UCLA’s decisive win over USC by a margin of 34 points.

Through conference play so far, Betts is averaging 21.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game while UCLA remains undefeated at 4-0 in Big Ten games.

This recognition marks Betts’ twelfth career Student-Athlete of the Week award at UCLA.

Jordan Chiles from gymnastics was also nominated for this week’s honor.
