Freshman Kacey Ly of the No. 15 UCLA women’s golf team was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the third time this season, according to an April 9 announcement from the conference office.

Ly has previously received this honor on Feb. 5 and Feb. 19, highlighting her consistent performance throughout her first collegiate season.

Most recently, Ly led the Bruins with a career-best third-place finish at the Huntington Bank Collegiate on April 7. Competing in a field of 91 players at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, she finished with a score of ten under par (206), marking her fourth top-four finish in six tournaments during the spring.

During the tournament, Ly posted three under-par rounds—70, 66, and 70—including a personal best single-round score of six under par (66) in round two. This was also her fourth sub-70 round this season. She recorded two eagles on day one, both on the par-5 tenth hole across Monday’s two rounds, and added four birdies during a bogey-free back nine in Tuesday’s final round.

The UCLA women’s golf team is set to make its second appearance at the Big Ten Championship from April 24 to April 26 at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, California.
